This live performance brings to the stage the sozandas – female ritual leaders of Bukhara who interweave Persian poetry, shashmaqom, Zoroastrian symbols, and dance. Guardians of shared cultural memory, they embody rituals that once thrived at community gatherings. Their appearance unfolds within a richly adorned “peace tent”, where embroidered “recipes for peace” and layered soundscapes evoke Bukhara’s spirit of multicultural harmony.
