In a unique cross-cultural collaboration premiering at the Bukhara Biennial, Tashkent-based chef Pavel Georganov and Berlin-based artist and chef Caique Tizzi join forces to create a culinary experience that bridges memory, geography, and imagination. Their project transforms the act of eating into an exploration of belonging—where the warmth of the Uzbek home meets the sensorial vibrancy of tropical abundance.
Rooted in Georganov’s research into domestic Uzbek recipes—dishes long excluded from restaurant menus yet central to family life—the collaboration revives the intimate language of home cooking and reinterprets it for a shared public table. His approach, marked by deep locality and emotional resonance, reclaims forgotten flavours and gestures of hospitality that have shaped generations.
Tizzi, known for his performative and research-driven food installations, expands this dialogue through the lens of global interconnectedness and ecological imagination. Drawing from his Brazilian heritage and his work across Europe and beyond, he introduces ingredients, textures, and scents that invite a sense of play and sensuality.
Together, they weave a multisensorial narrative of taste and memory, where the earthy foundations of Uzbek cuisine encounter the lush brightness of tropical expression. The table becomes a space of cultural translation: a conversation between Bukhara’s spice-laden histories and the exuberant biodiversity of the tropics.
The result is neither fusion nor contrast, but a living dialogue through food—one that celebrates hospitality as a universal language and taste as a bridge between worlds.
Attendance is strictly by reservation, as places are limited.
