Saturday 07 September, 16:30
Duration: 2 hours
Capacity: 10
Location: Gavkushon Madrasa
The Panjara Making Workshop explores the meeting point of traditional Bukharian woodcarving and the algorithmic legacies of Central Asian thinkers Al-Khwarizmi and Ibn Sina. The workshop invites participants to engage with the intricate wooden latticework known as panjara as both artistry and code. It offers a hands-on introduction to the techniques, tools, and patterns behind this centuries-old tradition. Participants will create their own small panjara to take home as a personal keepsake of the experience.
